and I just realized I didn’t submit my journey entry yesterday. Guess this will be short. =) Not to mention the baby fingers that are trying to help me type.
I haven’t had much good to say lately due to my nearly 3 year old deciding that it doesn’t matter how often he gets in trouble or how much it hurts him to get in trouble. He’s going to do what he wants. After a long talk with my mother (who revealed out of her 4 children, I was the one by far who caused her the most grief) I realized that sometimes it’s better to take the easier road. Since I haven’t demanded constant, immediate obedience every time life has been much better this week for all of us. Aidan is much more relaxed and doesn’t seem so frustrated all the time, and he’s actually been coming up to me and giving hugs and saying, “I love you, Mommy.” =)
On a brighter note, the spelling is coming along! (I’m really not pushing it. He is very interested, and asks alot of questions.) Aidan tells me now what alot of words start with. He can figure out most words that have a hard consonant start. (“Kelly” threw him since he thought it should start with a C, but hey, he’ll get it.)
The other night he got out of bed to say, “Mommy, may I tell you somefing?”
(Oh, he asked soooo sweet) “Sure, sweety, what is it?”
“I know what Elmo starts wif.”
(Big smile from me…) “What does Elmo start with?”
“Elmo starts wif L!”
Ummmmmm, good try, Aidan! Again, why is English soooo hard? =)
